Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
The short version: Maxed scores a photo you choose to submit, then discards it — we don't store your photo. There are no accounts. We collect anonymous usage analytics (no photos, no personal identifiers) to improve the app, and Apple + RevenueCat handle purchases.
Who we are
Maxed ("the app," "we," "us") is a cosmetic photo-rating and glow-up-routine app for iPhone. This policy explains exactly what happens to your information.
Your photo: scored, then discarded
When you run a scan, Maxed sends one photo to our server over an encrypted connection so it can be rated. Our server immediately forwards that photo to Google's Gemini API to generate your scores, returns the results to your device, and does not save a copy of your photo anywhere. The image exists only in memory for the seconds it takes to process the request; it is not written to a database, a file, or any backup.
We do not control Google's own request-level retention for abuse and safety monitoring on its API, which is separate from using your data to train models — see Google's Gemini API Additional Terms and Google's Privacy Policy. We never see, store, or have access to your photo after the request completes.
Each device is assigned a random identifier so we can enforce the one free scan per install. That identifier (not your name, Apple ID, or any Apple device identifier) is stored on our server paired with "free scan used" — nothing else is stored against it.
Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account, email address, or sign-in.
- We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone.
- We do not store your photos, before or after a scan.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand which features people use and improve the app, Maxed sends a small number of anonymous usage events (like "scan completed" or "paywall shown," your app version, and device locale) to our own server. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising company, and these events never include your photo or scan results.
Each installation is assigned a random identifier generated on your device. It is not your name, Apple ID, or email address, and we have no way to connect it back to you personally. To request deletion of your analytics data, email [email protected].
Purchases and subscriptions
Maxed offers an optional subscription ("Maxed Pro"). Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store; Apple processes your payment and we never see your card details. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
To manage your subscription status across devices, Maxed uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives your App Store purchase receipt and a random, anonymous installation identifier, used solely to confirm whether your purchase is active. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Diagnostics you choose to share
If your device is set to share crash and usage diagnostics with developers, Apple may provide us anonymized crash reports through App Store Connect. These contain no photo content and no personal identifiers. Turn this off in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Entertainment, not medical advice
Maxed's ratings and routine suggestions are cosmetic and for entertainment purposes only. They are not medical, dermatological, or health advice, and the app does not diagnose or assess any medical or health condition.
Children
Maxed is rated 17+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
